My name is Colin Pfening (hence the “f” in Pfotography). I’ve lived in Spokane since I was three, and I have a deep passion for storytelling.
Stories are what define us and unite us with others. Growing up in the church, the greatest Story ever told has always been exciting to me, and continues to spur on the reason for everything I do.
Since the ninth-grade, I’ve been developing my photography skills to bless others and tell their best story. Gaining experience by photographing events and services at my church, I became excited about media creation as a way to tell stories, something that surpassed the value of creativity for me.
I am a Whitworth graduate and have eight years of experience in photography, marketing, communications, and freelance work.
My wife, Abby, is a labor and delivery nurse, and we are deeply in love. We both enjoy storytelling and she motivates me toward helping others tell their best story. I would love to come alongside you and tell yours!
My Philosophy
There are a few things that set Pfotography apart from other photographers in the area.
Relationally Intentional Photos
I want to know you well before you get behind my camera. We’ll have at least one consulting meeting or phone call where I will ask you questions about what you’re expecting and how I can best come alongside you, your group, your family, or your event.
True-To-Life
Your photos are for your enjoyment, and my desire is to keep the style of photos I take as close to how you lived those moments as possible. Because of that, I provide as many candid and unposed photos as posed, and my hope with that is for you to re-live the memories captured as you view them.
Warm and Vibrant Style
I love it when photos can look as close as possible to how the scene looked in real life. Because of this, you won’t see much filtering or color changing on my photos. This is part of my style of story-telling.
No Maximums
Other photographers cap the amount of photos they offer you. I don’t operate that way. My reasoning is: if I am taking a photo I am proud of, you will become the owner of it! Because of this, the photo albums I give you will contain dozens, even hundreds of additional photos than your average Spokane photographer.
